The Tuileries Gardens got its name as a tribute to the tile factories which were previously located where Queen Catherine de Medici built the Palais des Tuileries in 1564. The famous gardener of King Louis XIV re-landscaped the gardens in 1664 to give them their actual French style. The Tuileries Gardens, which separate the Louvre from the Place de la Concorde, are a cultural walking place for locals and tourists, there are lots of famous statues such as Maillol, Rodin and Giacometti.
Whether you are traveling with family or friends, la Fête des Tuileries is a perfect place to relax and stroll along the main thoroughfare with some fairground treats (candy floss, Italian ice cream, crepes, doughnuts, toffee apples, hot sandwiches). The admission to the funfair is free of charge, but there is a fee for acessing the atractions. For the comfort of everyone, there is no sound system at the Fête des Tuilerie.
